Bat Mitzvah Celebration At Brix Tavern Tualatin
Lizzie and her friends had a great time at her Bat Mitzvah celebration held at Brix Tavern in Tualatin, Oregon on Saturday, October 26, 2024.
Before dinner, Havdala was led by Camp Director Moses and also featured comments from family and friends.
The party room is separate from the more spacious restaurant. The adults had their own seating and buffet in the restaurant, while the nearly 60 kids pretty much had the party room to themselves, where they had a great time playing games: Would You Rather, Name That Tune and a scavenger hunt before dancing opened to everyone with “The Hora” and traditional chair raising.
Most adults chose to remain in the dining area so music for the dance floor was primarily geared to the kids and they brought the energy for recent hit songs including many requests for Travis Scott’s “FE!N”, plus Israeli dance favorites like “Golden Boy”, “Ba Kalit” and more.
Mazel Tov Lizzie and thank you mom Michelle for again choosing PRO DJs.
Isaac’s Bar Mitzvah Blast At Nordia House
Isaac and his friends and family had a great time at his Bar Mitzvah celebration held at Nordia House in Portland, Oregon on Saturday, October 19, 2024.
As guests arrived, I played a variety of background music selections before leading the kids in some games that included “Would You Rather” and a scavenger hunt.
Following dinner, Isaac’s dad thanked everyone for coming and then his friends threw candy at him to symbolize the start of a sweet life as an adult. Next, I invited everyone to the dance floor for the traditional “The Hora” with chair raising of Isaac and his family.
Having just seen many of the families in attendance one month earlier, I wasn’t surprised to witness a high energy dance floor from start to finish. Everyone had fun dancing to hit music (“Can’t Stop The Feeling”, “Cha Cha Slide”, “Party Rock Anthem” and more) plus classic 80’s and 90’s favorites requested by the parents.
Mazel Tov Isaac and thank you Alison for choosing PRO DJs!

Bat Mitzvah Blast At Village Ballroom
Emma’s Bat Mitzvah was a blast at the historic Village Ballroom in Portland, Oregon on Saturday, September 14, 2024.
Guests began arriving just before 6pm to a classic cocktail music mix featuring songs from Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra and more as requested by Emma’s parents, and then around 6:30, I led the kids in some games including “Name That Tune” and a scavenger hunt.
Dinner music was Oldies and Motown favorites. After a toast and slideshow, I opened the dance floor with “The Hora”, inviting everyone out to celebrate Emma.
Guests had a great time as adults and kids danced the night away to the big hits, such as “Dancing Queen”, “Can’t Stop The Feeling”, “Cha Cha Slide” and more.
Mazel Tov Emma and thank you parents Holly and Rob for choosing PRO DJs.
Kai’s MJCC High Energy Bar Mitzvah Bash
Kai and his friends and family had a great time at his Bar Mitzvah bash held at Mittleman Jewish Community Center in Portland, Oregon on Saturday, April 13, 2024.
As guests arrived, I played a variety of background music selections before leading the kids in some games, including Kai’s request for a Scavenger Hunt plus Coke & Pepsi. There was also an airbrush table and photo booth.
Following dinner was a slideshow and then I invited everyone to the dance floor for the traditional “The Hora” with chair raising of Kai and his family.
Kai’s father Mark informed me at the start that this group liked to dance and they did not disappoint, bringing the energy the entire evening. Everyone had fun dancing to hit music (“Can’t Stop The Feeling”, “Cha Cha Slide”, “Party In The USA” and more) plus classic 80’s new wave tracks requested by the parents.
Mazel Tov Kai and thank you mom Lorissa for choosing PRO DJs!
Bat Mitzvah Celebration At Pips & Bounce
Anna and her friends and family had a great time at her Bat Mitzvah celebration held at Pips & Bounce in Portland, Oregon on Saturday, February 17, 2024.
The spacious venue that takes up nearly a full city block, featured the dance floor on one end and ping pong tables, along with gathering area for food and drinks, across the remainder.
Like most Bat Mitzvah parties, my plan was to lead the kids in some games before dinner, but with the black lights overhead and plenty of Taylor Swift (as requested by Anna), the girls just wanted to dance the night away from the beginning.
After a slide show, I began playing “The Hora” and invited everyone to dance with Anna and her family. When the time came, only a folding chair was available, but those tasked with holding it up with the Bat Mitzvah girl on board were experienced pros 🙂
Mazel Tov Anna and thank you mom Liz for again choosing PRO DJs. We had the opportunity to be the DJ at brother Steven’s Bar Mitzvah celebration in 2021.
