Elliot’s Bar Mitzvah (October 16, 2010)
Even with all the planning, events don’t always go according to plan. But that’s alright, in this line of work, we react to the changes and make a party.
For Elliot’s Bar Mitzvah last night, the plan was to hold cocktails in one room at the Governor Hotel, then the kids and parents would be in separate rooms for dinner, before rejoining for a video presentation and dancing.
Well, except for the video, the parents never made it out of their room and 30 minutes after the official start of this event, the lights came down and the kids packed the dance floor for much of the night.
With glow sticks, finger lights and body lights flashing, we also played some games, including Jukebox Eliminator, where several kids won Starbucks gift cards.
After dinner, the adults joined us to watch the video, then stuck around for a little while to dance to favorite hit songs, including ‘Twist & Shout’ and ‘We Are Family’.
I rarely saw Elliot NOT on the dance floor. He said he and his friends had a great time. Mazel Tov and thank you mom Rochelle for choosing PRO DJs.
