Portland Corporate Holiday Party DJ: 3 For 30

With a late Thanksgiving this year, Portland corporate holiday party DJ events have concentrated on the first two weekends of December 2013, including three events in 30 hours for yours truly on the 13th and 14th.
Friday night I was at the Hilton Vancouver for a Hawaiian-themed company party. After cocktails, dinner and a live performance in the Heritage Ballroom, everyone joined me in the Discovery Ballroom for a raffle drawing and dancing.
As expected, the prize giveaways got everyone excited and the dance floor was packed for nearly four straight hours. I played everything… from the classic big hits to 80’s hair bands, 90’s hip hop and Country, they loved it all and may have kept going past our 2am cut-off time if allowed 🙂

On Saturday, I played Christmas music and entertained the families of employees at their annual Children’s Christmas party. With an 11am start, I didn’t have much turnaround from the night before, but I felt great and the kids had fun with Santa before joining in on some games with me and dancing with their folks.
Saturday night marked eight straight years PRO DJs has performed at the holiday party for a Vancouver Garden Supply company. Once again, employees and their guests enjoyed the gaming tables and for cocktails and dinner, I played a mix of Christmas favorites.
Everyone really looks forward to this time of year as this generous company indulges their employees with a large number of great prizes they can win, including tools, electronics, gift cards, and big screen TV’s. This year, they also gave away money via the cash machine, where raffle winners had a chance to grab as much cash as they could in 20 seconds.
These giveaways always provide a great lead-in to dancing and guests filled the floor in the time we had left, getting down to the latest hits.
Portland Vancouver DJs For Any Event
A wide variety of events packed the PRO DJs schedule on Saturday, September 21, 2013. Our Portland Vancouver DJs performed everything from a corporate open house to an apartment complex tenant party, a Bar Mitzvah, school dance and even a last-minute wedding.
The day began with Rich at the Western Star Truck Plant Open House on Swan Island in North Portland. From 10am-4pm, he played a variety of music and made announcments, including raffle prize winners. The last day of Summer looked more like early November as the rain fell heavily for most of this event, but guests made the most of it and enjoyed the dunk tank and classic car show.
Immediately afterwards, Rich hustled over to the Village at Lovejoy Fountain apartments in downtown Portland for an end of Summer celebration held for all 800 residents, who were treated to a barbecue and a chance to win prizes, including $500 off their rent. This event was also held outside in the courtyard, but there was no rain for this one and everyone had a good time visiting and a doing little dancing. There wasn’t an official dance floor, but small groups broke out here and there to get down 🙂
Other events taking place this day included Steve performing at Jonah’s Bar Mitzvah at Irving Street Kitchen in Northwest Portland, Rhett at the Union High School Homecoming Dance in Vancouver, Washington and Li at Brittany and Kyle’s wedding at the Fort Vancouver Artillery Barracks also in Vancouver.
It was a full slate of events, but everything went smoothly. Portland Vancouver DJs from PRO DJs have experience performing at any type of event. You can count on us for consistent, reliable, high-quality service.

Employee Dinner Dance With Portland Party DJ
35 years working for one company is a mighty long time and to mark that milestone, Gretchen was asked what she wanted to do to celebrate?
She chose a dinner/dance with a Portland party DJ, her co-workers and friends. The company she works for obliged with a formal gathering at The Nines in Portland, Oregon on Friday, January 25, 2013.
With about 60 guests in attendance, the smaller ballroom provided an intimate setting and everyone enjoyed appetizers and drinks while I played a mix of background music that included Coldplay, Al Green, U2 and other popular artists.
During dinner, I played a softer set that featured songs from Jack Johnson, Nora Jones, Otis Redding and more. Afterwards, several co-workers lined up to toast the guest of honor.
A slide show followed and it featured many pictures and music from 1978, the year Gretchen began working for the company. I played on that theme, opening the dancing portion of the evening with ‘Stayin’ Alive’ from the Bee Gees.
It was noted that Gretchen brings a lot of energy to work everyday, so I wasn’t surprised to see her lead the way to the dance floor with most everyone soon joining her and her husband.
For this Portland party DJ, it was a great run of classic hits and disco that kept this party movin’ and groovin, including big hits ‘Billie Jean’, ‘We Are Family’, ‘Play That Funky Music’, ‘Love Shack’ and more.

Portland Karaoke DJ Plays OMSI After-hours
Last year was so much fun for a group of employees from Intel, they decided to do it again… karaoke and dancing for their holiday party on Saturday, December 15, 2012. The venue this time was ALL of Turbine Hall inside the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) in SE Portland.
Employees and guests were seated for dinner around the exhibits and many I could not see from my central location, but the unusual arrangements were a pleasant change. For background music, they requested a variety of hits, with some holiday tunes blended in to mark the season.
Of course, the main reason they were here was karaoke and after a short speech by the boss and raffling off some prizes, they were ready to go. We experienced a little deja vu as the first singer this year was the same person who started us off last year. T.J. came up to me as soon as she arrived to check my new karaoke songs. She also informed me she had married the boyfriend she came to the party with last year 🙂
Next was Brad singing the Foo Fighter’s ‘Everlong’, followed by Jimmy doing KISS’ ‘I Was Made For Lovin’ You’ and Amy singing ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’ made famous by Bonnie Tyler. Much of the entire group got together for Journey’s ‘Don’t Stop Believin’ to close another fun night away from the office.

Look Of Winter At Corporate Holiday Party
With frosted trees, blue accent lighting and all tables and chairs dressed in white linen, it was an indoor Winter Wonderland at this year’s corporate holiday party for a Vancouver-based Garden Supply company on Saturday, December 15, 2012.
Their preferred venue is the Jantzen Beach Red Lion in the Riverview Ballroom and their preferred DJ service is PRO DJs, as this was our seventh straight year performing at this event.
Once again, gambling, major prizes and dancing made up the intinerary. The gaming tables are open from the start until 8:30pm. The music mix for cocktails and dinner featured holiday favorites.
When the tables closed, the employees settled in to see who would come away with a long list of prizes and presents given away over about a 90 minute period. As expected, this portion of the evening was very popular. Prizes include tools, electronics, gift cards, cash and a big screen TV.
This company has really grown over the years and now includes many younger employees, so we went with mostly current music for dancing. After the prizefest, everyone was pretty fired up and the dance floor was very energetic until midnight.
