Bat Mitzvah
Tearing Up The Dance Floor At Rachael’s Bat Mitzvah
Hello again. November is a busy month for Bar and Bat Mitzvahs. On Saturday, November 19, 2011 I performed at Rachael’s Bat Mitzvah held at Mittleman Jewish Community Center in Portland, Oregon. Redeye Photo Booth was there and they took many pics for the scrap book. The girl working the photo booth was sick so I made a lot of announcements to make sure we got the right shots.
Rachael was pretty quiet in the beginning, but once her friends arrived, got real excited knowing her party was under way. She wanted games, dancing and lots of fun. As usual, the kids got done with dinner real quick so I started them dancing only 20 minutes after dinner was served 🙂
A little later there was a toast from Rachael’s parents Tom and Julie and slide show. Right after that we went into ‘The Hora’ to get everybody started. Seeing the entire family going up in the chair always makes me smile. There were a lot of girls at Rachael’s party and only a few boys, so we played a lot of games and I kept everybody busy with dancing and having fun.
As the party was coming to an end, I asked Rachael how do u want to end this, slow or fast? She said ‘let me ask my friends.’ She then came back to ask me ‘what do I think?’ I said since we do not have a lot of guys here, lets go out with a huge bang. She agreed and picked ‘Sandstorm’ from Darude… this song is fast and loaded with energy and the girls kept pace. They left with sore feet from all the dancing, but with big smiles. It was another great party and a wonderful family.
Mazel Tov Rachael and thanks Tom & Julie for choosing PRO DJs. See you all next time. -Steve

Crazy Dancers Rule Portland Bat Mitzvah Party
Welcome back people. Another exciting adventure with a 12:30pm start on Saturday, November 12, 2011 for Maya’s Bat Mitzvah bash at the World Forestry Center’s Cheatham Hall. The kids were excited and I spun the dance music right out of the gate, all while throwing out socks and handing out fun hats and glasses. Maya wanted all fun, all the time with high energy.
Lunch started at 1:00 with Gina’s serving the food. While guests ate, the kids got their picture taken with Photobooth Papparazzi Tonight. Maya’s mom Robyn then addressed everyone with a nice thank you for attending.
As usual, the kids were done eating quickly and I went right to work with them dancing and getting started with the first game, Coke and Pepsi. The kids were laughing so hard because the other line kept running to there partners… it was very funny. A little more dancing followed before starting the slide show. All the kids sat on the floor while they watched the slide show and then dessert was served
I then picked things up again with ‘The Hora.’ The entire family went up (Maya’s mom, dad, and sister). After the chair raising, the floor was packed with parents and kids. For the second game, I went with the popular scavenger hunt, with one of Maya’s friends winning this game. Next, we did the Most Crazy Dancer game… lol, can u say weird, ugly, not right dancing… it was so funny… I felt like I was going to fall over crying.
The party went really well and guests appeared to have a fun time dancing. We ended the party with The Black Eyed Peas ‘The Time (The Dirty Bit)’ and went out with a bang, just the way Maya wanted it… she was so happy and told me her party reminded her of the East Coast Bar/Bat Mitzvah parties she has attended. Till the next time kids, see u on the dance floor. -Steve

Live In Living Color: Sarah’s Bat Mitzvah Celebration
After performing at a wedding Friday night, it was a quick turnaround for me the following day with a 12:30pm start on Saturday, October 22, 2011 for Sarah’s Bat Mitzvah Celebration held at the World Forestry Center in Cheatham Hall.
Guests arrived to a short set of background music before Sarah’s father Ken welcomed everyone and introduced a video he had put together. At the conclusion of the video, I took advantage of an excited group of kids to get the party started and ramped up the energy with a swing dance contest. Sarah’s family provided some great prizes, including Jamba Juice gift cards and mini-games.
While the adults engaged in conversation, I led Sarah and her friends through one event after another, including a hula hoop and limbo contest and two rounds of ‘Jukebox Eliminator’ interspersed with some of their favorite hit songs, such as ‘Dynamite’ and ‘Firework,’ the ‘Cha Cha Slide’ and more.
Sarah is also a big fan of musicals and the final 90 minutes featured many of her favorites from “Live in Living Color: Catch Me If You Can”, “Wicked”, “Suessical” and more. The kids had a great time acting out parts and singing along. I really enjoyed this group… they were a lot of fun and full of life.
Mazel Tov Sarah and thank you mom Michelle for choosing PRO DJs. -Rich

Hannah’s Bat Mitzvah
The day could not have been any better. The sun was out and the kids were playing soccer and riding golf carts before the party.
When the party started, the kids had pictures drawn on them and also had their photos taken in the Limelight Photo Booth. I hosted games and gave away prizes and when the kids were ready to dance, they went right at it.
The parents eventually joined in and when ‘The Hora’ played, the floor was packed! We danced, watched the sun go down, turned down the lights and danced some more. I will never forget the fun I had at Hannah’s Bat Mitzvah!

Sarah’s Bat Mitzvah
Fun, fantastic and most of all, good old fashioned partying. The girls showed up, the guys showed up and so did the parents. The kids wanted to get started during the cocktail music, but showed some amazing restraint and waited until after dinner to really let loose.
Pictures were done by Ronald Appelbaum… the kids knew him from previous events, so it was automatic. The party evolved into laughing, fun games and love sparks going off with kids (ha ha ha).
The limbo was crazy and we could not pick one person as a winner, so we chose the best guy and best girl. The judges also had a problem with the swing dance because there were so many good couples and they were not able to narrow it down to one winner… so many good dancers out there.
Sarah was happy and tired because she danced so much. However, she wanted to go out with a bang… instead of the normal slow dance, we ended with a fast song. The kids then got together for a huge group hug!
Mazel Tov Sarah and thank you mom Ellen for choosing PRO DJs. -Steve
