Birthday Party DJ Lights Up Village Ballroom
Good friends and family gathered at the Village Ballroom in Northeast Portland along with a birthday party DJ spinning the tunes on Saturday, November 10, 2012 to celebrate Jeff’s 60th.
For this milestone, he wanted a simple party with good food and music and that included plenty of his favorites from the Beatles, Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin.
Guests danced to a little bit of everything from oldies (Elvis, Supremes) and disco (ABBA, Bee Gees) to 80’s hits (Bruce Springsteen, Michael Jackson).

Renaissance-Themed Wedding At Kennedy School
On a cold, blustery day, a little clearing happened just in time for Mark and Ryan’s Commitment Ceremony held at McMenamins Kennedy School in Northeast Portland on Saturday, October 20, 2012.
Despite the forecast, they were determined to exchange vows outside in the courtyard next to the Gym where the reception took place and fortunately, it worked out perfectly.
Ceremony Highlights:
- Processional Entrance: Cirque du Soleil – O
- Recessional: Queen – You’re My Best Friend
Reception Highlights:
- Grand Entrance: Owl City – Shooting Star
- Cake Cutting: Plain White T’s – 1,2,3,4 (I Love You)
- First Dance: Stevie Nicks – Crystal
When I opened the dance floor to everyone, the just shy of 50 guests packed the floor right away for ‘At Last’ from Etta James, but after a few fast songs, most took a break to visit with friends before returning later to fill the floor for a good hour… getting down to the latest hits.

Portland Wedding DJ Returns to Oswego Pointe
The last time I performed at this venue, the Portland-area was in the middle of a long streak of dry, sunny weather, allowing the ceremony to be held outside (Julie & Brian 9/1/12). The October rain has arrived though, forcing everyone inside and the large ballroom at The Foundry at Oswego Pointe in Lake Oswego, Oregon became an intimate scene for Lisa and Guy’s wedding and the reception that followed on Friday, October 19, 2012.
Background music for the reception was a mix of big band and crooner hits from the 40’s and 50’s, such as Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald and Nat King Cole. Following dinner was the toast and then Lisa surprised Guy by singing the Motown classic ‘My Guy’ (see photo below).
Reception Highlights:
- Grand Entrance: Frank Sinatra – Fly Me To The Moon
- Cake Cutting: Adam Sandler – Grow Old With You
- Bride’s Grandmother and Groom Dance: Louis Armstrong – What A Wonderful World
- First Dance: Etta James – At Last
- Groom and Mother Dance: (Live Performance) Bride’s Daughter – Dancing In The Moonlight
- Last Song: Rascal Flatts – Bless the Broken Road
Over 200 guests packed the room and I was told this was the largest event at The Foundary this year. I say, the more the merrier means less inhibition and we had a good run on the dance floor with smash hits from the Bee Gees, Maroon 5, Beyonce and more.
Congratulations Lisa and Guy and thank you for choosing PRO DJs.

“Rich was amazing. He was prompt, kind, sincere, and honest. He made several very last minute changes for us. Including, making the first dance with my new husband and my 89 year old grandmother. It was very touching. Everyone should get to have the experience with a DJ the way we did.” -Lisa and Guy Belfiore

50th Birthday Party Fun At Caufield House
DJ Rhett performed at Donna’s 50th Birthday Party on Friday, October 19, 2012 at the Caufield House in Oregon City. Her husband Mike planned everything and wanted the focus of the event to be dancing intermixed with people giving birthday wishes and blessings to Donna. He also surprised his wife by playing guitar and singing a song for her, ‘Somewhere in Time’. Mike had noted they danced to that song on their honeymoon in Ashland in 1996.
Donna loved any dance song from the 70’s and 80’s, including Chicago, Journey and Pat Benatar, plus a special request for ‘Easy Lover’ by Phil Collins and Phillip Bailey. Mike also let us know she likes some of the new dance songs heard on the radio today.
