Paige and Andrew’s Scenic Gorge Wedding
They couldn’t have picked a more beautiful place for their wedding ceremony and reception. It was a warm day with a light breeze through the Hood River area. The winery Paige and Andrew chose for their wedding had a spectacular view of Mt. Hood.
I arrived early to set up and do sound checks. I was ready to play soft music for the family and staff that was there early setting up as well. Before long, guests started to arrive and walked into the amazing scenery and sound. Once the ceremony started, everything was picture and sound perfect. Guests, Groomsmen, Bridesmaids, Bride and Groom were dressed for the occasion of a lifetime. With custom picked music to send the wedding party down the aisle, the ceremony was beautiful. Once Andrew and Paige completed their vows and were officially husband and wife, we were ready to celebrate.
Guests walked up from the lower lawn to the reception area as cocktail music by Michael Bublé, Jack Johnson, John Mayer and others played in the background. Dinner was served buffet style by great local caterers. After the toasts and cutting of the cake, it was time to dance. Andrew and Paige chose ‘Everything’ by Michael Bublé as their first dance as husband and wife. Paige then danced with her father and Andrew danced with his mother. After that, we opened up the dance floor to all. I played everything from Alan Jackson to Sir Mix-A-Lot. Guests were dancing the entire evening. It was a blast.
Thank you Paige and Andrew for inviting us to be a part of your wedding. We had as much fun as you did. Congratulations!! -Rhett
“RHETT WAS THE ABSOLUTE MAN! We will be recommending him to any future brides/grooms we know. COULD NOT BE HAPPIER WITH EVERYTHING HE DID. Everyone at the wedding commented on how great the DJ was. Thanks Rhett!” -Andy Willis/Paige Worden

Annette & Jeff’s Old School Wedding Reception
We love to help couples plan their wedding reception. Some couples prefer a traditional flow of ceremonies during their wedding celebration. Some prefer to be different. Annette and Jeff chose the latter and their wedding reception was custom-designed perfectly.
Jeff and Annette had an intimate wedding ceremony in April of 2011 then chose to have their wedding reception a few months later with a larger party of friends and family. It was another beautiful day in Portland with the reception at the Hayden Island Yacht Club next to the Columbia River. Annette and Jeff did not want a grand entrance. Instead they greeted their guests as they arrived. During the planning, Jeff and Annette decided not to have toasts but instead replaced with song dedications made by guests sent in with their RSVPs. We played those dedications throughout the night. Music including Al Green, Esperanza Spalding and Lauren Hill played as the guests arrived and during the cocktail hour. As dinner was served we slowed it down with song dedications from artists Luther Vandross, Lonestar and Joe.
As the last guests finished their dinner, a family member performed a spoken word poetry piece specifically made for the new couple. It was very sweet and entertaining for the guests. Next Annette and Jeff cut their wedding cake. Soon after, we opened the dance floor to all. The newlywed couple and guests wasted no time to start celebrating the wedding with dance. It was a funk and retro loving crowd and they loved it. We pulled out the old-school music for guests including the O’Jays, Parliment and Wild Cherry. It was a fun night all night long, custom-designed for Annette and Jeff.
Congratulations Jeff and Annette! Thank you for having PRO DJs be a part of your wedding celebration! -Rhett
Claudia & Brian’s Wedding
I love to DJ weddings. It brings out the beauty everywhere. Saturday July 23, 2011 was no exception. It was a beautiful day in Portland, Oregon. The wedding reception took place at the gorgeous Portland Gold Club and the guests were looking spectacular. The bridal party looked amazing. And, of course, Brian, the groom, looked very dapper and with him was his very beautiful wife, Claudia. Beauty was everywhere. Now it was time to celebrate.
The ceremony took place at a church in another location so I arrived to the reception venue to get set-up along with the Portland Golf Club staff. Soon, the guests started to arrive. I played a mix of classic and contemporary medium-tempo music as the guests flowed in to socialize. Some familiar artists and music from Dave Mathews Band, James Taylor, David Gray and more got the guests warmed up for the night ahead.
After about 30-45 minutes, the bride and groom arrived for their grand entrance. You could feel the love as they applauded and cheered loud and proud. After a little more socializing and cocktail music, the staff was ready to serve dinner. An announcement got guests to their seats and the courses were served. I brought the music-tempo down to the mood, more relaxing and enjoyable for dinner with artists like Nora Jones, Elton John and Fleetwood Mac. Soon it was time for the toasts and cutting of the cake which is always entertaining for me. You get to hear the great stories of how they met and how wild they were before they met each other.
After the toast and cutting of their wedding cake, it was time for dancing. Claudia and Brian chose Andrea Boccelli’s ‘Besame Mucho’ for their first dance as husband and wife. Right after, I opened the dance floor to all with a familiar slow song that brought all the couples out. Then we really got the celebration going. I cranked it up and guests danced to everything from Bob Seger and Michael Jackson to Usher and ‘Party Rock Anthem’ from LMFAO…and everything in between. It was a lot of fun.
Finally, we ended the night with a request for ‘Sweet Caroline’ by Neil Diamond. I love to see young and old together, dancing and singing the song of a familiar tune… it was a beautiful sight to see.
Congratulations Brian and Claudia! Thank you for letting us be a part of your wedding celebration. Cheers! -Rhett

Alice & John’s Wedding
Saturday, June 25, 2011. With temperatures in the mid-70’s and Sunny, you can’t ask for better Portland-area weather for a nice outdoor wedding. It was perfect.
2 months earlier I met John and Alice in person to go over their wedding. With grey skies and rain looming that day, it can be difficult to plan exactly how a perfect outdoor wedding should go. Yes, the wedding would be in June, but this is Oregon. There are no guarantees. They were crossing their fingers. I was crossing mine. It worked! The weather could not have been better. Not too hot, not cold. Sunny skies. Perfect.
The ceremony was held at a private residence in Aurora, Oregon. A large yard and deck surrounded by trees and other great landscaping. It was a beautiful setting. A young family member played the flute during the arrival of the guests and processional over our sound system. The bride, groom and bridal party looked amazing. I played custom chosen music for the bride entrance and bride and groom exit. The ceremony was great and we moved right into the reception.
Music filled the air as the guests mingled and the bride and groom took pictures elsewhere. I could see the guests bobbing their heads and moving their hips and feet to the medium-tempo music. The dancing portion of the reception had not started but we were getting there. John and Alice made their entrance along with their bridal party. They chose “Love Train” by the O’Jays – a perfect song for them and for their grand entrance.
John and Alice are absolute music lovers and connoisseurs. They love to sing Karaoke. They met at a Karaoke bar in Downtown Portland. John proposed to Alice at the same place a couple years later. After the wedding was over, they rode their limo back to the very same bar where it all started.
Music is very important to John and Alice. We’re honored to have been a part of that perfect day. Congratulations John and Alice!
“Rhett was exactly what we wanted for our wedding – professional, attentive, courteous. Planning was easy and we knew he would provide the atmosphere we wanted. He kept the party going all night, read the crowd very well and everything flowed just as we wanted, it was our dream day! Thank you!” -Alice & John Ivie

Seaside High School Prom
I drove into Astoria from Portland an extra hour early. Fortunately, I didn’t need to use that cushion time I usually provide myself with in case of any traffic issues. On time, every time is how I like to get the party started. The Seaside High School Prom was ready for take off. Since I was set up a whole hour early, I took requests and played some music for the parents and staff. A little funk and motown got the adults into the party mood. But this night was for the students and guests of Seaside High. So when the time got a little closer for their night, we put the 80’s away and made room for the new generation and their music.
Adele, Black Eyed Peas and Bruno Mars is what pumped though the ballroom as the Juniors and Seniors walked into the array of flashing lights. The first students wasted no time moving their bodies on the dance floor. I knew it was going to be a fun night. The shape of the venue made the acoustics sound so sweet. About 150-200 students filled the ballroom and got lost in the music. Jessie J, B.O.B, Tinie Timpah, Lupe Fiasco…so much good music out right now. For 3 hours they let the responsibilities of student life go for this coming-of-age event. After an enitre Senior class picture and crowning of the Prom King and Queen, we finished off the night with even more music from Usher, Katy Perry and Ke$ha. And then it was the last song. Chris Brown’s ‘With You’ to top off the night.
It was a fun night for everyone. Thank you Seaside High School for having us! -Rhett
