Stevenson Washington Maple Leaf Events Wedding
Abbey and Gabriel’s Maple Leaf Events wedding took place in Stevenson, Washington on Saturday, October 8, 2022. Feeling like a summer day, it was sunny and a warm 80 degrees for the ceremony outside.
Maple Leaf Events Wedding Ceremony Highlights:

The dinner buffet was inside the reception hall with large windows, but guests could also gather on the patio and I kept a speaker used for the ceremony outside.
I was setup just inside the hall with another speaker so music and the toast could be heard nearly everywhere.
The newlyweds requested mostly classic hits from The Beatles, Otis Redding, John Denver and more for the background music during the cocktail hour and dinner.

The dance floor opened around 3:30pm and filled quickly for the first two songs. Most guests remained spread out on the property both inside and out.

Abernethy Center Abigail’s Garden Wedding
Sabrina and Taylor’s Abernethy Center Abigail’s Garden wedding took place in Oregon City on Sunday, September 25, 2022 on a beautiful Northwest early fall day for the ceremony held outside at the Gazebo.
Abernethy Center Abigail’s Garden Wedding Ceremony Highlights:

Following the ceremony, guests moved up the hill directly behind the ceremony to the tented reception area. During the cocktail hour and dinner, I played a mix of background music from a variety of artists that included Adele, Stevie Wonder and Jason Mraz.

It was a pleasant evening to walk the grounds for the almost 70 guests in attendance, plus a photo booth out of sight of the tent area. The dance floor had its moments too as I played favorites “Stayin’ Alive”, “Low”, “Cupid Shuffle” and more.

Private Residence Corbett Oregon Wedding
Gianna and Dominic’s Corbett Oregon wedding was held Saturday, September 10, 2022 on a 40 acre lot at a private residence. The property was renovated by the newlyweds and their friends and family specifically for their big day, including the additon of a pavillion and deck overlooking a small pond. They hope one day to turn this into an official wedding venue.
The air was slightly smoky from forest fires that had started up two days earlier and heavy winds prompted PGE to cut power to the area so a generator was required, but the temperature was a comfortable 77 degrees when the ceremony began at 5pm.

Guests next moved to the pavillion for cocktails and dinner. For background music, I played a variety of classic hits, including favorites from Stevie Wonder, Lauryn Hill, Queen and more.

A medical emergency that required a visit from paramedics happened right as the toast began, delaying traditional reception events by about 30 minutes, but the impacted guest was okay and following the toast, shoe game, cake cutting and Bride and Father/Groom and Mother dances, guests were ready to shake it up to their favorite songs which included some classic hits and recent favorites.

Tillamook Oregon Wedding Private Residence
Hanna and Josh’s Tillamook Oregon wedding was held at the home of the bride’s family on Saturday, September 3, 2022 with the ceremony in the front yard and reception in the back. The weather was absolutely perfect, sunny and a comfortable 72 degrees.

Guests gathered for cocktails and dinner under a tent in the backyard with me and my sound equipment setup on the house deck and the dance floor in between uncovered. For background music, the bride and groom chose a mix of “fun and lite 70s chill (America, Neil Young, The Doors)” they provided to me as a Spotify playlist.

The sun was setting as the dance floor opened around 8:30pm and many guests were ready to shake it up to their favorite songs which included mostly classic hits, highlighted by a heavy dose of 70s’s disco as requested by the newlyweds and their family.

Griffin House Wedding Hood River Oregon
Gemma and Jess’ wedding and reception was held at Griffin House in Hood River, Oregon on Friday, September 2, 2022.
This was my first time as DJ at this venue, a beautiful spot overlooking the majestic Columbia River Gorge with the ceremony lawn providing the best view to exchange vows.

With the wedding, cocktail hour and dinner/dancing in three separate areas, three sound systems were required to make everything go as smoothly as possible. This included a lapel microphone for the ceremony officiant and handheld cordless microphones for the vows and toasts.
Guests gathered on the Welcome Terrace for cocktails and a welcome toast from the newlyweds before moving to the lawn + tent for dinner and dancing.
Background music was provided to me as Spotify playlists by Gemma and Jess and included a wide variety of selections from Death Cab for Cutie, Beyonce, AC/DC and more.

This was a fun group and the celebration really took off after the newlyweds returned from their sunset photos and glow sticks were handed out.
The dance floor was packed for nearly two hours with an amazing energy. I played everything from “One More Time” and “Love Shack” to requests for Madonna, Lady Gaga, “Disco Inferno” and more.
Early on, a beer shotgun competition with Gemma and her family also broke out in the grass behind where I was setup 🙂
