Happy New Year From Central Oregon
I didn’t think the party last New Year’s Eve in Silcox Hut above Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood could be topped, but we came pretty close.
This time my client reserved a large vacation home in Prineville, Oregon and with an intimate gathering of about 30 people, guests were treated to some amazing food, prizes and entertainment. Of course, I had a great time, but it was made better with my wife being able to join me this weekend to celebrate the New Year.
For the final evening of 2011, everyone was pumped up and we got off to a hot start on the dance floor. I spun a mix of classic dance tracks with a heavy dose of current music, that included the top two songs in the Billboard year-end countdown: Adele’s ‘Rolling In The Deep’ and LMFAO’s ‘Party Rock Anthem’.
As the clock ticked down to 2012, I led a countdown. At midnight, most everyone found someone to kiss while ‘Auld Lang Syne’ played in the background. This new year feels like a change is in the air after a mixed 2011, so playing Journey’s ‘Don’t Stop Believin’ felt like a good choice as the first song of 2012.
On New Year’s Day, everyone (my wife and I included) went snowmobiling near Mt. Bachelor. After a great dinner, we made our way back to the dancefloor for a karaoke party. Guests had a fun time singing or being entertained.
Thanks again Lisa and Rick for the opportunity and a great time. Happy New Year!

Classy Company Party Meets Karaoke Fun
The posh Urban Studio in Northwest Portland, Oregon was the scene for a holiday party put on for a group of employees from Intel on Thursday, December 15, 2011. I arrived extra early to set-up for karaoke and dancing. However, for the first hour, a live trio of musicians provided the background music.
After a speech from the boss and a few raffle prizes given away, I had a quite a few guests already signed up for karaoke, so we got right to it with T.J. singing Aerosmith’s ‘Rag Doll’ to get things started. Some other songs chosen, included James singing ‘Zoot Suit Riot’ and Jimmy turning in the performance of the night with Styx ‘Mr. Roboto’.
There was dancing as well and everyone really enjoyed the current hits, including ‘Moves Like Jagger’ and Flo-Rida’s ‘Good Feeling’. Despite what you might have heard, computer engineers like to dance and sing. This party was proof 🙂
Thank you Nicole for the opportunity (PRO DJs performed at her wedding reception in September). Happy Holidays. -Rich

Costumes and Karaoke Fun at the Crystal Ballroom
The annual Halloween Karaoke Costume Party for the staff of a local TV station was a rockin’ good time at McMenamins Crystal Ballroom in downtown Portland, Oregon Thursday, October 27, 2011.
With a small stage and intimate setting, Lola’s Room was the perfect gathering spot for belting out their favorite tunes and something about dressing up as someone or something else makes for a great inhibitor.
80’s hits ruled, but guests sang a little of everything, including Justin Bieber, Elvis and and Nivana. ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ was performed by a guy dressed as a caveman, who just kept yelling ‘wheel!’ 🙂
