A Hot One At Fort Vancouver Wedding
It’s officially summer in the great Northwest and the sun was shining bright on Tiffany and Justin’s wedding held Saturday, July 7, 2012 in Vancouver, Washington. The reception took place at the historic Fort Vancouver Artillery Barracks beginning at 12:30pm following their ceremony at a church in Salmon Creek.
For background music, I played a mix of classic rock and Country favorites as requested by the groom, including Fleetwood Mac, Van Morrison and Tim McGraw. As guests arrived, they immediately noticed the photo booth with props (Star Wars, etc.) and lined up to get their picture taken in all kinds of crazy poses.
Wedding Reception Highlights:
- Grand Entrance: “Serenity” Theme Song
- Cake Cutting: Elvis Presley – Can’t Help Falling In Love
- First Dance: Thompson Square – Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not
- Bride and Father Dance: Heartland – I Loved Her First
- Groom and Mother Dance: No Limitz – The Man You’ve Become
- Last Dance Song: Rascal Flatts – Why Wait
It was a hot day and with no air conditioning, I was concerned most guests would want to get outside as soon as the formal events were complete, but many stuck around and we had a good run on the dance floor with classic songs from the Beatles, Bee Gees and more. Country music was also popular… I received requests for Brad Paisley and Zac Brown Band.
Despite the heat, it turned out to be a pleasant afternoon for Tiffany and Justin. Best wishes to you and thank you for choosing PRO DJs. -Rich
